Maya World Reacts To Praise From Tony Khan, Says It Let’s Her Know That She’s Doing Everything Right

Maya World discusses the comments from the AEW President.

One of the matches on the bill for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026 is the finals of the Women’s Owen Hart Cup tournament. It’ll see Maya World taking on 2025 tournament winner Mercedes Moné.

Going into the match, those within AEW were doing promotion and making the media rounds. Company President Tony Khan did an interview and named Maya World as AEW’s most underrated talent.

While appearing on Off The Ropes, World reacted to the praise and said the following:

“I think it just definitely gives me the confidence to know I’m doing everything right. I show up, I have a good attitude, I’m ready for whatever’s presented in front of me and everything that he has presented in front of me, as he said it, I’ve definitely took it and ran with it. That’s all I can hope for, as someone so early on. To show I’m someone you can trust and show I’m someone that when I’m given the ball, I’ll definitely run with it, and I think he’s noticed that.”
