Mercedes Mone talks her match with Athena.
On the April 16th edition of AEW Dynamite Spring Break-Thru, Mercedes Mone and Athena met in the Owen Hart tournament in what many considered a dream match. In a brutal back and forth affair, Mone would eventually score the victory, moving on in the tournament.
While speaking to Justin Barrasso for Undisputed, Mone spoke about her bout with Athena, noting that she had never experienced anything like The Fallen Goddess in the ring before.
“That match, it was so fucking cool, Athena gave me hell. I’ve never experienced anyone like her in the ring. Athena has been doing it for so long. I was watching her before I was even signed to WWE. I want to see her on AEW television more. She’s too good not to be seen. She’s explosive–one of the best, innovative wrestlers in the world. She is that fucking good.”
