Mercedes Mone: Hopefully When I Get My Rematch With Toni Storm, That’s The Main Event

Mercedes Mone has made plenty of history inside AEW and outside as she went over a year without a loss, won the AEW TBS Championship, and has collected titles outside of the promotion.

The next step for Mercedes, and the women’s division, is to main event a pay-per-view.

“I feel like our next big goal is to have a woman main event a pay-per-view. That’s my dream and my goal for us. I feel like we left fans wanting so much more, and I just care so much about our product and the women’s division,” Moné told Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated while speaking about her match against Toni Storm. “So, that’s a match that holds so high in my career, and one of my favorite matches that I’ve ever had.”

Mone vs. Storm at AEW All In Texas was arguably the biggest women’s match in AEW history.

“I don’t think we’re far at all,” she said. “You know, I was really praying, manifesting that All In would be me vs. Toni in the main event. But hopefully, when I get my rematch with her, that’s the main event.”

Mone named Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale as potential main event opponents as well.

Mercedes will defend her AEW TBS Championship against Persephone, Alex Windor, and Bozilla at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
