Mercedes Mone is the reigning IWGP Women's Champion and bet on herself by leaving WWE as a free agent at the start of 2023.
It is unknown if Mone will return to WWE, she, along with Naomi, walked out of the company in May 2022 after a reported creative disagreement with Vince McMahon. Mone (Sasha Banks in WWE) and Naomi were the reigning WWE Women's Tag Team Champions at the time of their walk out. They were suspended indefinitely by the company after the incident.
Appearing at Planet Comic Con, Mone was asked who in WWE she would like to face should she return.
"I really like Zoey Stark in NXT. She is super talented and amazing. She is ready to blast off and shine and given the opportunity, I would love to see her on Raw or SmackDown. Of course, my girl Bayley. I'm not done with her yet. I love her, I think she's amazing. Natalya. She's one of my favorites and I feel like I never really got the opportunity to have a long match with her. I'd like to have an Iron Woman match with her. I used to train with her and we used to train for an hour, non-stop, just calling. I know me and her would have an incredible Iron Woman match," she said.
Mone is set to make the next defense of her IWGP Women's Championship at NJPW Sakura Genesis.
