Mercedes Mone Retains CMLL Women's World Title, Issues Open Challenge for AEW WrestleDream

Mercedes Mone retained the CMLL Women’s World Championship against Persephone on the 10/17 edition of CMLL Viernes Espectacular.

Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre hosted a new episode of Viernes Espectacular on October 17, 2025. The show was headlined by Mercedes Mone defending her CMLL Women’s World Title against Persephone.

After a heated affair, Mone locked in the Bank Statement to pick up the Submission win. After the match, she announced she would host an TBS Title Open Challenge to any champion tomorrow on AEW WrestleDream.

Mone also called out anyone from the back to challenge her for the CMLL Women’s World Title. That challenge was accepted by Olympia, with Mone saying the title match would be in United States.

This was Mone’s second defense of the Women’s World Title, last defeating La Catalina. Mone also became the longest-reigning TBS Champion with 509 days.
