Mercedes Mone explains what Sasha Banks is all about.
Since leaving the WWE in mid 2022, Mercedes Mone has been going by that name, leaving her Sasha Banks name behind. However, many fans have still associated Mone with the name, and Mone has not completely forgotten how important Sasha Banks was to her growth as a professional wrestler.
While speaking on the Kick Rocks podcast, Mone was asked what Sasha Banks means to her, with the former IWGP Women's Champion stating that Sasha Banks stands up for what she believes in.
"A legend. An icon. A powerhouse. Someone who stands up for what she believes in. Is a legit boss. They got that trademark for a good reason. I played that role really good. A legit boss, inside and outside the ring, and will lay it all on the line. She has a heart full of gold. Sasha Banks, what a career. What an amazing career. The thing about that, it makes me even more excited to see what Mercedes Mone can do."
Mone is currently expected to make her All Elite Wrestling debut on March 13th's AEW Dynamite: Big Business. Mone has not competed since suffering an ankle injury in May of last year.
