Throughout his two decades in WWE, Michael Cole has done everything from call some of the biggest matches in wrestling history to being violated backstage by Heidenreich.
Speaking to Pat McAfee on the Pat McAfee Show, Cole revealed that he's never turned down anything pitched to him by WWE out of respect to the McMahon family and their willingness to do everything on-screen.
"I've never said 'no' to Mr. McMahon. The things that Mr. McMahon has done for the company and the things that he's put himself through...if the owner of the company can do that, there ain't no reason Michael Cole can't do all that.. Including getting Heidenreich'd," said Cole. "Shane is just crazy. But look what Stephanie and Triple H did with Becky Lynch. Triple H had a match and tore his pec. It's a love for the business and company."
Cole continued, discussing his heel run and eventual WrestleMania match with Jerry Lawler.
"We can complain as much as we want but there's nothing better than going out there to perform and make people smile," said Cole. "A highlight of my career was when I had a heel run. The first time in the history of wrestling, the lead guy was a bad guy to the point where we had a match at WrestleMania. It was the worst match ever, but it was WrestleMania. I'd still be a heel today if Jerry Lawler didn't have a heart attack."
Lawler suffered a real heart attack during the Sept. 10, 2012 episode of Raw. Lawler and Cole were still feuding on-screen at the time but Cole broke his heel character to help Lawler and provide updates on his condition throughout the show.
Cole is currently the lead announcer for WWE on Monday Night Raw. He helped bring Pat McAfee into the company as part of NXT kick-off shows. McAfee recently announced that he signed a multi-year deal with WWE.
