Michael Elgin Removed From IMPACT Wrestling, Elgin Comments

Michael Elgin won't be seen on IMPACT! anytime soon.

IMPACT Wrestling announced that they have removed Elgin from upcoming episodes of IMPACT!

The company gave the following statement to PWInsider:

"Impact Wrestling announced that Michael Elgin will not be appearing in any further Impact Wrestling programming."

PWInsider reports Elgin will not be appearing for the promotion moving forward. He has been removed from the roster page of the IMPACT website and his merchandise has been removed as well.

Elgin was reportedly told of this decision earlier on Friday.

Elgin posted the following statement on Instagram:

"I appreciate the time and opportunities given to me with Impact. That locker room, the film crew and all the company officials were a pleasure to be associated with. I hope that in time things get sorted.

For now, I have to look at the bright side, I have more time to spend with my son and reclaim time that has been missed."

IMPACT previously suspended Elgin amid allegations of sexual misconduct on June 22. Following his suspension, and termination of the contracts of Joey Ryan and Dave Crist, the company had to re-edit this past Tuesday's episode of IMPACT! The episode reportedly almost didn't make air due to the changes that needed to be made.

IMPACT is currently investigating the situation involving Elgin during his suspension.

Elgin was slated to compete in a fatal five-way for the IMPACT World Title at Slammiversary. That match has already undergone a big change as Tessa Blanchard was fired on Thursday night and the title being declared vacant.

Fightful Select also reported that Elgin was involved in a backstage fight during a recent set of tapings.

The company will now have to re-edit upcoming episodes of IMPACT to remove Elgin and re-configure the Slammiversary main event.

Fightful will continue to update fans on the story as more is known.
