Mick Foley Says It Once Bothered Him That People Only Remembered Him For His 1998 Hell In A Cell Match

Mick Foley discusses the infamous moment.

WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley is well-known for having played the role of "Mankind", "Dude Love" and "Cactus Jack" and being able to make himself fit in whatever space that the company he works for needs him to be in. One moment that will always follow Foley whenever his name comes up in the conversation of pro wrestling is his Hell In A Cell match with The Undertaker at the 1998 King Of The Ring PPV.

Foley has even came up with an entire tour based on the infamous match entitled the '20 Years Of Hell' tour and while Foley was guest appearing at the Raleigh Comic Con, CJ Creech of 'Fan Fest' had the opportunity to speak with Foley and during the interview Foley stated that it once bothered him that all people remembered him for was the Hell In A Cell match but he soon came to the realization that he was a part of something special.

?For a while, it kinda bothered me that that was the only thing people remembered me for. But as is often the case with iconic characters whether it be Batman or the Fonz, after a while you stop regretting it and realize how lucky you are to be a part of something people remember so fondly." He said. "I?ve had a great time bringing that night back to life on stage and I enjoy talking about it with a lot of people who were not even born when that match took place 20 years ago.?

At WWE's 'Extreme Rules' PPV on July 15th, Kevin Owens paid homage to Mick Foley when he was tossed off a 20-foot Steel Cage through an announce table.

Mick Foley commented on the tribute, noting that he has yet to see footage of Owens' fall but he is going to reach out to K.O. and see how he is doing.

"I?ve heard great things about it, but I?ve yet to see it. I need to text Kevin and see if he?s okay, but from what I hear it was sensational.? Foley said.

Speaking of Kevin Owens, the former WWE Universal Champion has his eyes set on that very title once again as he has an opportunity to become Mr. Money In The Bank at SummerSlam. For more information on that, click here.
