The pairs were supposed to have their own singles matches on the show but it was combined into one. Whenever WWE's female superstars are doing PR for the company, they talk with excitement and anticipation about 'Evolution' and that was the case for former 6-time WWE Women's Champion Mickie James when Mickie joined FOX 11 to talk about her music career, Ronda Rousey and 'Evolution'.

“It’s groundbreaking for us. I think because… especially I think of this last year. There have been so many monumental moments for women in our industry, and it’s really driven by our fans that they wanted this and now it’s just kind of come to fruition - from the first-ever Elimination Chamber to the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match and now we have our very own first PPV Evolution, and I just hope that this is the beginning of an annual thing because there’s so much talent out there for the females." Mickie stated. "Not that you just see on the main screen right now for RAW and SmackDown but for NXT and there’s untapped talent that we haven’t even - not discovered, we see them, we know them but you guys haven’t seen them yet and it’s just a plethora and I think that with the rise of women’s wrestling and the desire to want that out there from the fans, it’s incredible.”

As mentioned in the earlier paragraphs, Ronda Rousey was a topic of conversation at one point and Mickie spoke very highly of Ronda - not only as an individual but as a performer and stated that Ronda adds notoriety and validity to WWE's women's division.

“Oh she’s great, she’s fun - I actually like Ronda a lot." Mickie said. "I think that what she’s done for the women - its elevated it to a sense of where.... Not just the notoriety of having Ronda because we have so many amazing Women's Champions that have set the stage in my mind. I’ve [been] wrestling my whole life so it's just… adding her to the mix [has] really brought this validity to our division.” Mickie continued speaking about Ronda’s personal comeback from the UFC, “Its been incredible. In my opinion I always thought Ronda was great when it comes to… even when I was watching MMA, I really never followed the females until Ronda Rousey came along and now, so she’s not only elevated the women in that industry, but for our industry as well - has brought a new… I just think people are taking it a lot more serious because they know she’s a legit fighter.” Mickie explained.
