IMPACT Wrestling announced that Mickie James has selected Masha Slamovich to face Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo at IMPACT Knockouts Knockdown on October 9.
Deonna and Mickie met with Scott D'Amore on the October 7 edition of IMPACT Wrestling. The IMPACT Executive announced that the two women can not engage physically ahead of their Knockouts Championship match at Bound For Glory on October 23. If they do, Mickie will have the title opportunity taken from her. For Deonna, the punishment would see her stripped of her Championship.
D'Amore also announced that Mickie and Deonna will compete in Pick Your Poison matches. In those bouts, each woman will be in charge of selecting the others' opponent.

Along With Purrazzo vs. Slamovich, IMPACT Knockouts Knockdown will feature a tournament to crown a new top contender for the Knockouts Championship and a Monster's Ball bout.
Fightful will have live coverage as well as a post-show review of Knockouts Knockdown this Saturday, October 9, 2021, beginning at 8 p.m. EST.
