Mickie James Was 'Feeling Out' Producer Role Before WWE Release

Mickie James was released by WWE in April after not competing in a singles match since September 2020.

Though she wasn't on television, James was active behind the scenes in trying to help the girls.

Speaking to Scott Fishman of TVInsider, James discussed where she was in her WWE career before receiving her release.

"I don’t know if I had a seat at the table. I was more in a position where I was able to sit in on some of those [creative] meetings and perhaps give my opinion — but it was very rare where I spoke up unless it was pertaining to me. I was feeling it out for a producer or agent role. I would honestly express my opinion to someone I loved and trusted, if it was something I felt like I should speak up about, but I was more in the learning phase of how it operates," she said.

Following her release, James revealed that she had pitched an all-female brand, but the idea was turned down.

James will put the spotlight on the women on Saturday at NWA EmPowerrr, serving as the executive producer for the all-women's show. You can view the current lineup for the event by clicking here.

Fightful will have coverage of NWA EmPowerrr beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 28.
