Mike Santana Returns To WWE NXT, Stares Down Tony D’Angelo

Mike Santana is back in NXT.

The main event of the July 21st episode of WWE NXT on The CW was a Street Fight for the NXT Championship. The champion, Tony D’Angelo, defended the belt against NARAKU.

The match concluded with D’Angelo hitting the ‘Dead to Rights’ on NARAKU through a table, and that secured him the win.

Throughout the night, NXT General Manager Robert Stone had been on the phone with someone who he said was coming to the show. That individual showed up, and it was former TNA World Champion Mike Santana. He stared D’Angelo down while the champion held his title up.

After dropping the TNA World Title at Slammiversary, TNA went on to remove Santana from their roster page. He had been back with the promotion since 2024.

Commentator Vic Joseph stated that Santana ‘crossed the line,’ which is the phrase that is used when NXT and TNA talents compete in each other’s home promotions.
