MJF Denies Attacking Jay White, Retains ROH Tag Titles At AEW WrestleDream

MJF's quest to defend the ROH World Tag Team Championship is off to a strong start.

At AEW WrestleDream, AEW World Champion MJF was scheduled to defend the ROH World Tag Team Championship with Adam Cole against The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch). Cole went down with an ankle injury ahead of the show, but MJF vowed to defend the titles by himself and keep them warm so they'd be waiting when Cole returned.

When MJF came to the ring for the match, he had a microphone, and he claimed that he had nothing to do with the attack on Jay White at the end of the September 27 episode of AEW Dynamite, though one of the perpetrators was wearing his Devil mask. MJF said that someone stole the mask. He then made it clear that he would beat The Righteous, just as he said he would.

MJF took the fight to The Righteous, but they gained the upper hand, as they outnumbered him. The momentum turned when Vincent and Dutch grabbed a chair. When the referee wasn't looking, MJF grabbed Vincent below the belt and wrenched until he let go of the chair. MJF then kept fighting, and he bodyslammed Dutch. He then hit the Kangaroo Kick and ultimately hit the Heat-seeker on Dutch for the win. MJF's feet were on the ropes, but the referee didn't see it.
