AEW WrestleDream (10/1/2023) Results: Bryan Danielson vs Zack Sabre Jr, 2/3 Falls Match, More Set

All Elite Wrestling held the event "AEW WrestleDream" on October 1, 2023 from Seattle, Washington. The event aired on Bleacher Report Live & FITE TV (Internationally).

The show was headlined by a 2/3 Falls Match for the TNT Championship, with Christian Cage defending his title against Darby Allin. Also on the show, Bryan Danielson faced Zack Sabre Jr & Swerve Strickland faced "Hangman" Adam Page. Full results are below.

Zero Hour

  • Ricky Starks was interviewed backstage by Lexy Nair during the Zero Hour, saying that he would prove why Wheeler Yuta was BCC's whipping boy.
  • ROH World & NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion Eddie Kingston was interviewed by Lexy Nair, but was interrupted by Stokely Hathaway. Hathaway told Kingston he had something to say to him on Wednesday.
  • Tony Khan, Rocky Romero, Katsuyori Shibata & Antonio Inoki's grandsons (Naoto Inoki & Hirota Inoki) kicked off the show paying tribute to the legendary Wrestling icon before the opening contest of the Zero Hour.
  • Zero Hour: Satoshi Kojima, Keith Lee, Athena & Billie Starkz def. Diamante, Mercedes Martinez & Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor & Lee Moriarty).
  • Zero Hour: Claudio Castagnoli (w/ Jon Moxley) def. Josh Barnett.
    • After the match, Josh Barnett put over Claudio Castagnoli for the competitive bout, saying that Inoki-San (Antonio Inoki) would have loved him as a performer; however, Barnett said that he still wanted a receipt later.
  • Zero Hour: Luchasaurus def. Nick Wayne.
  • Zero Hour - AEW World Trios Championship Match: The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) & "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn (c) def. TMDK (Shane Haste, Mikey Nicholls & Bad Dude Tito).

Main Broadcast

  • Before the opening contest of the evening, MJF denied the claims made against him regarding Jay White getting attacked backstage on the 9/27/2023 edition of AEW Dynamite. MJF talked trash to both Vincent & Dutch and promised to retain the belts for Adam Cole.
  • ROH World Tag Team Championship Match: MJF (c) def. The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch).
  • ROH World Championship & NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship Match: Eddie Kingston (c) def. Katsuyori Shibata.
  • AEW TBS Championship Match: Kris Statlander (c) def. Julia Hart (w/ Brody King).
  • Winner Gets AEW Tag Team Title Match At Any Time: The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) def. The Lucha Bros (Rey Fenix & Penta El Zero Miedo), Orange HOOK (Orange Cassidy & HOOK) & The Gunns (Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn).
  • Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana) def. "Hangman" Adam Page.
    • The finish of the match came when Swerve hit Page with Prince Nana's Crown. Swerve caught Page with two "House Call" kicks before hitting the JML Driver for the Pinfall win. Shawn Kemp was at ringside for the match.
  • Ricky Starks (w/ Big Bill) def. Wheeler Yuta (w/ Jon Moxley of Blackpool Combat Club).
    • Jon Moxley & Jim Ross were in the broadcast team for the match.
  • Bryan Danielson (w/ Jon Moxley) def. Zack Sabre Jr.
    • Jim Ross & Jon Moxley stayed in the broadcast team for the match. "Mighty Mouse" Demetrius Johnson watched the match from the crowd.
  • Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita, Sammy Guevara & Will Ospreay) (w/ Don Callis) def. Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho & Kota Ibushi.
    • In the last parts of the match, Jericho went for the Liontamer on Guevara, but Don Callis hit Jericho with a Scepter in the head. As Ospreay grabbed Ibushi & Omega on the outside, Guevara got a lateral press on Jericho for the Pinfall win.
  • AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) (c) def. Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis)
  • AEW TNT Championship - 2/3 Falls Match: Christian Cage (c) vs. Darby Allin (2-1).
    • In the third fall, the referee was speared by Christian Cage. Cage was ready to hit Allin with the TNT Title, but Nick Wayne took the belt away from Cage. Wayne was about to hit Cage with the title, but he hit Allin instead. This led to Cage taking advantage and getting the pin for the win.
    • After the match, Christian Cage & Nick Wayne continued to attack Alin in the center of the ring. Sting made the save and attacked Wayne & Cage, but he was laid out by Luchasaurus. Cage went for a Conchairto on Allin, but he was stopped by a vignette. The vignette was revealed to be WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland (known as Edge). Edge teased going for a Conchairto, but attacked Luchasaurus & Nick Wane. Copeland hit two spears on Wyane & Luchasaurus. Copeland stared daggers at Cage from across the ramp to end the broadcast. "The Rated R Superstar" is All Elite.
