Moose Thinks Rob Gronkowski Is Signing With WWE But Wrestling Will Not Be Gronk's Main Career

Moose believes Gronk will wrestle on a per appearance basis.

Super Bowl winning Tight End for the New England Patriots, Rob Gronkowski has retired from the NFL and there have been a number of ideas thrown out there about where he will land next. It has been reported that Gronk has signed with a TV and movie production company already but those within WWE such as former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt and Gronk's close friend Mojo Rawley are all for Gronk coming to the sports-entertainment company.

"The Man" Becky Lynch also gave her take on the possibility of Gronk coming to WWE and IMPACT Wrestling's Moose did the same while speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated. Moose feels that Gronk will eventually sign with WWE but it will not be on a full-time basis and Gronk will have marquee matches at events like WrestleMania and/or SummerSlam.

"I think Gronk’s going to sign with WWE, but he’s not going to make it his next career,” said Ojinnaka. “He can have a big match at WrestleMania or SummerSlam, but I know Gronk. People need to understand that his body has been through hell. Gronk can’t make this a career, but he can have a couple great matches.”

Moose compared Gronk potentially coming into wrestling to how the current RAW Women's Champion Ronda Rousey is holding up in the sport. He argued that Gronk's body is more beat up and Ronda did not have as much physical damage done to her body during her days in UFC by the time she came into WWE.

"Ronda is a legend, but she didn’t fight as long as Gronk played in the NFL, and the NFL is way more taxing on your body than UFC,” said Ojinnaka. “The surgeries in the NFL really add up, and Gronk has had so many, even back surgery. Guys have been targeting his lower body for years, so think of the damage that did to his knees.”

Moose is looking to find his spot on IMPACT Wrestling's 'Rebellion' pay-per-view match card and two matches were added to the card over the weekend and to stay up to date with the lineup, head over to Fightful's "events" page.
