Mustafa Ali Says He Watched Buddy Murphy Make Weight For 205 Live: 'You Can't Knock The Hustle'

Mustafa Ali says he saw the hard work that buddy Murphy put into his run on 205 Live and everything that went into Murphy cutting weight for the Cruiserweight division.

One of the critically acclaimed feuds during the five years existence of 205 Live was Mustafa Ali vs. Buddy Murphy. Prior to Buddy Murphy moving over to SmackDown and having highly-touted matches against Roman Reigns and moving over to Monday Night Raw to work with Seth Rollins, Murphy honed his skills as a singles competitor on WWE 205 Live.

It has occasionally been questioned whether or not buddy Murphy was legitimately at the Cruiserweight level. Even Chris Jericho once remarked on a podcast that Buddy Murphy was as big as he is and questioned the legitimacy of his Cruiserweight status.

Replying to a fan on Twitter who was remarking that Buddy Murphy being legitimately considered 205 pounds was laughable, Ali noted that he watched his rival diet, train, and cut weight to be on the program and insisted that it was all legitimate.

Buddy Murphy was recently released by WWE and on Friday, June 25, 2021, many 205 Live regulars were released from the company as well. Learn more here.

In 2019, Buddy Murphy spoke to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp and noted that WWE was hesitant to put him on 205 live. You can check out the full interview here.
