MVP Doesn’t Know Why MLW Didn’t Air 2018 Match With Low Ki, Says They Had Fun With It

MVP discusses his lost match with Low Ki.

On March 8, 2018, MVP and Low Ki competed in an unsanctioned match at MLW Spring Break. This was the follow-up to their first match, which took place at MLW Zero Hour in January 2018.

The unsanctioned match never aired on MLW programming, but there are multiple fan clips across the internet that show some of the action. On the latest episode of the Marking Out podcast with Dwayne Swayze, MVP was asked about the match.

“I had a match with Low Ki at the nightclub in Orlando that they used to shoot at. Low Ki and I decided to do some cinematic-style samurai [stuff]. He had the Filipino fighting sticks, I had a kendo stick, and we were like fighting with the sticks. He was spinning the sticks at me and I picked up the chair blocking it. We had fun with it.”

MVP also stated that he doesn’t know why the match never made it to air.

“Why it never aired, I don’t know. That’s a question for the owner of MLW. I don’t remember what happened, I honestly don’t recall what happened.”

Low Ki has been less active in recent years, wrestling only nine times since February 2023.
