On the October 22nd edition of Monday Night RAW, the-then WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns announced to the world that he has to step away from the ring so that he can head into his second fight with Leukemia. Roman was showered with love from the entire wrestling world no matter the promotion or company. Once Roman came to the backstage area after making his announcement, he was embraced by the majority of the RAW locker room.
All the talents wished Roman well on his journey to returning to the ring and those well wishes are still coming in as exampled by former SmackDown Live Women's Champion Natalya writing about Roman Reigns in her latest blog post for the 'Calgary Sun'. Natalya titled her article: "Thank You For Being Our Superman, Roman Reigns" and here's an excerpt from the blog:
"Backstage, our world stood still. We all were watching the monitor and hugging one another, crying and in total disbelief. To me, Roman Reigns was WWE’s version of Superman and he was our locker room leader on Raw. I thought back to how hard he worked to realize his dream to win the Universal Championship from Brock Lesnar and it made me sad to think everything now needed to be put on hold for him to battle this horrible disease."
