Surprisingly, not every title changed hands at Wrestle Kingdom 15.
In the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Title bout, El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru successfully defended the titles against Ryusuke Taguchi & Master Wato. Desperado and Kanemaru have held the titles for 116 days, making two title defenses during their reign.
The finish of the bout saw El Desperado hit Pinche Loco on Taguchi for the victory.
Elsewhere on the card, Shingo Takagi outlasted Jeff Cobb to retain the NEVER Openweight Championship. Cobb and Shingo threw everything but the kitchen sink at each other with neither man being able to stand following the bout. Shingo survived a Tour of the Islands and hit Last of the Dragon to pick up the victory.
This marks Shingo's first successful title defense of the NEVER Openweight Title.
