Kevin Owens came to SmackDown tonight, and he brought his United States Title with him.
He was met by three surrogate challengers: Baron Corbin, his old nemesis Sami Zayn from Raw, and AJ Styles. Owens already has a contractually obligated rematch against Chris Jericho two weeks from Sunday at Payback, however. So GM Daniel Bryan made a match for the main event, a triple threat between Corbin, Zayn and AJ, with the winner facing off against whoever wins at Payback.
After a back and forth hard fought match, AJ won by pinning Zayn after a Phenomenal Forearm.
There has been no indication of who might be next in line in the WWE Title picture after Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt meet in their House of Horrors match, also at Payback.
