A new AAA Mega Champion was crowned at TripleMania Regia 2021.

Originally, Kenny Omega was scheduled to face El Hijo Del Vikingo at Triplemania Regia for the AAA Mega Championship. However, Kenny was forced to vacate the title due to injury, ending his reign at 765 days.

Instead, a multi-man match including Vikingo, Jay Lethal and Samuray del Sol, the former Kalisto in WWE, Bobby Fish, and Bandido was announced.

At the event it was Vikingo who emerged victoriously, capturing the title for the first time. He is now the 12th wrestler to hold the belt since it was introduced in 2007.
