In what began as an already rough-start for the IMPACT World Tag Team Champions L.A.X.; with not having their manager Konnan at ringside and receiving a morale draining phone call prior to the match, they went into their tag team titles defense on edge. In the ring awaiting the team was the make-shift duo of the 'Feast Or Fired' winner Eli Drake, and his partner Scott Steiner.
It was a back and forth exchange throughout the bout but coming into the match already disgruntled and unfocused, Santana and Ortiz were unable to contain Drake and Steiner. The final sequence of the match saw Santana climb to the top rope and appeared to have Eli Drake put away as Drake was on the shoulders of Ortiz, but Santana chose to take out "Big Poppa Pump" who was on the outside, which lead to Eli Drake hitting his finisher to capture the IMPACT World Tag Team Championships for himself and Scott Steiner.
