New Japan Pro Wrestling content is coming to Fire Pro Wrestling.
It was announced at tonight's NJPW Fan Festa that a collaboration between Spike Chunsoft, the developers of Fire Pro Wrestling World, and New Japan are joining together for a licensing partnership. A trailer was shown highlighting NJPW talent including EVIL, Togi Makabe, Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kenny Omega, Ryusuke Tagugi, Tetsuya Naito and KUSHIDA. The NJPW ring, filled with its sponsors, was also shown. KUSHIDA and Togi Makabe came out to play a game against one another:
According to Chris Charlton, there will also be a new story mode related to New Japan Pro Wrestling. The mode will have you start out as a young lion, with the ultimate goal becoming the IWGP Heavyweight champion.
All of this content will be made available when Fire Pro Wrestling World arrives on the Playstation 4. According to Chris Charlton's translations, the game will be out for the Playstation 4 sometime before the G1 Climax tournament in July.
Fire Pro Wrestling World is already out on Steam, with the game having just left early access.
