New NXT Tag Team Champions Crowned

The parade is over.

Last month at 'Royal Albert Hall' on day-two of the second annual WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament special, the duo of Tyler Bate & Trent Seven challenged Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong for their NXT Tag Team Championships. On their home turf, Bate and Seven pulled out the victory in front of their home-country crowd and won their first tag team titles in the WWE.

On NXT TV a few weeks after their loss, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong invoked their rematch clause for the NXT Tag Team Titles and that match took place tonight on NXT TV. After a back and forth bout, the conclusion of the match saw O'Reilly lock a double kneebar onto Trent Seven who has had a beat-up leg for a number of weeks. Seven was yelling in pain as his partner Tyler Bate looked on. Bate decided to literally throw in the towel to save his partner from the pain--relinquishing the NXT Tag Team Championships back into the clutches of The Undisputed ERA.
