A new ROH World Champion has been crowned.
On the September 21 edition of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho was able to knock off Claudio Castagnoli to capture the Ring Of Honor World Championship. Jericho beat Castagnoli by nailing him with a kick to the groin when referee Aubrey Edwards was distracted, before following that up with a Judas Effect.
This marks Jericho's first time holding the belt, as he has never competed in the Ring Of Honor promotion before. This also marks the end of Castagnoli's reign with the belt, which started back on July 23 when he defeated Jonathan Gresham at Death Before Dishonor to win the belt.
