Nick Khan Says WWE Is Monitoring The Situation In Saudi Arabia, Will Not Run Raw And SmackDown In Saudi Around Night Of Champions

On April 23, WWE announced that WWE Night of Champions will take place on June 27 in Saudi Arabia.

The event was announced despite the ongoing wars involving Iran, Israel, and Lebanon.

Raw and SmackDown were not announced for Saudi Arabia, and during a TKO Town Hall (via POST Wrestling), WWE President Nick Khan stated that they would not hold the weekly flagship shows in Saudi Arabia like they have in the past.

“We’re only going if it’s safe or if we’re allowed there,” Khan said. “We are monitoring with our heads of security internally and with our government affairs folks externally, the situation there. If U.S. citizens are allowed in at this moment in time, it is declared and deemed safe, we’ll all be going there. Saudi is deeply desirous of getting WWE back there and getting events restarted, especially those that come from the United States.”

WrestleMania 43 is still expected to be held in Saudi Arabia.
