Both men came close on numerous occasions to finishing the match, but it was Danielson who emerged victoriously after hitting an avalanche DDT followed by a guillotine choke. With his victory, The American Dragon is now the number one contender for the AEW World Championship.

Bryan Danielson now has a record of 9-0-1 in AEW. His one draw came at Dynamite: Grand Slam where he wrestled to a 30-minute time limit draw with Kenny Omega.

Omega is set to defend his AEW World Championship later tonight against Adam 'Hangman' Page.
