Santana And Ortiz Publicly Explain Why They Are No Longer Teaming

On Friday's AEW Rampage, Santana announced that he's going to walk down a new path on his own, implying that his team with Ortiz is through.

Santana & Ortiz have been together since the beginning of AEW when they debuted as Proud N Powerful at AEW All Out 2019.

Santana said in the promo, "If there’s one thing I’ve learned through this process, it’s that you can’t depend on anyone to have the same passion or drive. Or hell, to even have your back the same way that you would. With that being said, the world has been asking all these questions. Now, the world is about to get all the answers. The road I’ve chosen to take is one that must be taken on my own. No crutch, no crew. All I’ve done my entire life is bet on myself."

Taking to social media, Ortiz responded to Santana's comments.

Santana responded later in the afternoon.

Santana was sidelined for over a year with an ACL injury, but returned alongside Ortiz ahead of AEW All In. The two teamed with Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, & Wheeler Yuta at AEW All In in the Stadium Stampede match.

Santana & Ortiz have not teamed in tag team actions since February 2022.
