Pacman Jones Says Jerry Jones Flew In For His TNA Tag Title Match, Dixie Carter Helped Him Sign With The Cowboys

In 2007, Pacman Jones was suspended by the NFL for violating the league’s player conduct policy.

Jones didn’t take the year off, instead embarking on a side quest in TNA Wrestling. Dixie Carter helped bring him into TNA, and she also helped deliver him to the Dallas Cowboys when he was officially reinstated by the NFL.

“Dixie is the one who called Jerry for me. Dixie is kin to Jerry Jones in some type of way. She asked me, ‘Who do you want to play for? If you had one choice, who would it be?’ Growing up, I was a Cowboys fan. First thing I said was Cowboys. The week before the championship match, she said, ‘I have somebody I want you to talk to. Take the phone.’ ‘Hello.’ ‘Hey, this is Jerry Jones.’ Are you fucking kidding me? ‘I heard you wanted to play for the Cowboys.’ ‘It would be a dream come true.’ After the championship match, he flew down for it, and I actually flew back with Jerry to Dallas to talk about the plan of me getting reinstated,” Pacman recalled on the Bobby Bones Show.

Pacman did not specify which championship match he was referring to.

Pacman teamed with R-Truth to win the TNA Tag Team Titles at No Surrender 2007. They would defend the titles twice on iMPACT!. All three matches took place in September.
