“His injury was a bit different, but he is still a superstar to me. Here is a guy who did not give up,” she said. “It took three years since the last time he was in the ring. It gives me hope. I know it probably won’t happen for me because of the prognosis. But I just want a miracle to happen.  Bryan is definitely an inspiration and would want to walk in his footsteps.”

Paige was forced to retire in April following a neck injury. She was out of action from Sept. 2016 to Nov. 2017 after neck surgery. Within a month of returning, she was suffered whiplash after taking an unsuspecting kick from Sasha Banks. Daniel Bryan retired in Feb. 2016 due to concussion related issues. He returned to the ring in April of this year. Paige took over the SmackDown General Manager job from Bryan.

Since being announced as the new GM after WrestleMania 34, Paige has received rave reviews from online fans. As the GM, she interacts with multiple superstars on every episode of SmackDown. As far as who she has the best chemistry with, she mentioned her former movie co-star as her favorite.

“Any time I have a promo with him, and I like R-Truth too, but I always have the best chemistry with Miz,” she said. “We really don’t stay on script perfectly. We kind of bounce off each other…He is the one I paid attention to when it came to promos. He helped me so much along the way with backstage segments. He made it so easy that it was great.”

Miz and Paige starred in the 2015 USA Network movie Santa's Little Helper.

Also in the interview, Paige discusses which up-and-coming superstars have caught her eye and opening up on this season of Total Divas.
