“The Intercontinental run was a massive, massive deal for me because I felt like it put me in the position to continue up the card,” Rhodes added.

“I think if I was to have the IC Title now, I would be less interested in my own selfish climbing up of the card and more putting the Intercontinental Title on a pedestal… I think I could do wonders for it.

“My goal is the WWE Championship but there's a lot of roads to get there. No pun intended.

“If it runs through the Intercontinental Title I would be more than proud to carry one of the industry's most prestigious Championships.”

- Sonya Deville, speaking to Sportskeeda, outlines plans for Pride month; WWE's involvement in the future.

"WWE - for the first time ever - will be partaking in the Los Angeles Pride Parade. I have my own float or vehicle, so I'll be out representing. I'm so excited! Hopefully, I'll see some of the WWE Universe out there. But we're really, really excited because, obviously, LA Pride is one of the biggest Pride parades. So, I think it's a really big deal that we'll be there representing. We're going to have some Pride-exclusive merch that I don't if I'm allowed to say yet, but I just did. We're going to have some big, cool things. I'm just really excited!"

Celebrating 20 Years: IMPACT Wrestling Presents Milestone Matches & Memories At SLAMMIVERSARY Pay-Per-View Event On Sunday, June 19th

Josh Alexander, Mickie James & Gail Kim Will Be In Nashville On June 9-10 To Preview SLAMMIVERSARY, Reflect on IMPACT Anniversary

IMPACT Wrestling celebrates its 20th anniversary on Sunday night, June 19th at the annual SLAMMIVERSARY pay-per-view extravaganza, live from Nashville, Tennessee.

Yep, exactly 20 years to the day of the first-ever IMPACT show, which was held in Huntsville, Alabama, when the company was known as NWA: Total Nonstop Action (NWA-TNA), IMPACT celebrates a bodyslamming milestone, 20 years in the making!

To preview SLAMMIVERSARY 2022 and reflect on the company’s 20-year journey, three IMPACT Wrestling stars will be in Nashville on Thursday and Friday, June 9-10, talking with the media and appearing around Music City. Confirmed to appear in Nashville for the June 9-10 Media Tour are reigning and defending IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander, multi-time Knockouts World Champion Mickie James and IMPACT Hall of Famer Gail Kim.

IMPACT Wrestling has back-to-back nights of action-packed, high-energy pro wrestling in Nashville: Sunday and Monday, June 19-20, both emanating from the famed Nashville Fairgrounds. Tickets are now on-sale for both Nashville shows at Eventbrite.com.

SLAMMIVERSARY is shaping up to be yet another can’t-miss show from IMPACT, as World Champion Josh Alexander puts the title on the line against two-time former World Champion Eric Young, the maniacal leader of Violent By Design who also has the homefield advantage as EY is a Nashville resident.

SLAMMIVERSARY will be history-making for the Knockouts Division, with the inaugural Queen Of The Mountain match for the Knockouts World Championship, now held by Tasha Steelz. To retain the title, Steelz must get past Chelsea Green, Jordynne Grace, Deonna Purrazzo and Mia Yim.

Another confirmed SLAMMIVERSARY match is the return of the high-risk, high-wire spectacle known as Ultimate X – one of the most unique matches in wrestling history and one that helped put IMPACT on the map. Ace Austin’s X-Division Championship will be on the line in the Ultimate X match and he will have to out-maneuver five foes, including Kenny King and “Speedball” Mike Bailey, to retain the X-Division Championship.

JOSH ALEXANDER
He is one of the of the most-skilled in-ring technicians who has shined in singles and tag team action – and was the winner of the 2021 IMPACT Male Wrestler of the Year award. A Canada native who still lives north of the border, Josh has been wrestling professionally since 2005 and is known for wearing amateur wrestling headgear after developing a serious case of Cauliflower ear in 2013 that resulted in the temporary amputation of his left ear to remove scar tissue; he wore the headgear to protect the ear after it was reattached.

MICKIE JAMES
Mickie James is a 10-time World Champion, including a 4-time IMPACT Knockouts World Champion – and she has more than two decades of pro wrestling experience. Mickie has been wrestling since 1999 and has been a multi-time winner of the Woman Wrestler of the Year award during her illustrious career. Mickie also is a renowned country music singer, best known for her hit single “Hardcore Country.” She is an inductee into the Native American Music Awards Hall of Fame and signed to Sony Music. Mickie is a co-host every Wednesday morning on Busted Open, the pro wrestling show airing on SiriusXM.

GAIL KIM
Gail Kim is one of the most decorated, accomplished pro wrestlers, ever. She is one of the best female wrestlers in history, a record 7-time Knockouts World Champion who has held the title for a combined record 711 days. She was the first-ever IMPACT Knockouts World Champion and the first female inducted into the IMPACT Wrestling Hall of Fame, and she won the WWE Women’s Championship in her first WWE match. Retired from in-ring action, Gail works in a prominent front-office job for IMPACT. She is married to celebrity chef Robert Irvine.
