Paul Heyman: You Mess With Brock Lesnar, He'll Dump You On Your Head, And Call You An A**hole After

Paul Heyman speaks out against accusations that Brock Lesnar is lazy.

Fans were left disappointed at WrestleMania 32 following Brock Lesnar's bout against Dean Ambrose. Ambrose had been built as a crazy man who was willing to go to great lengths to try and slay the beast. Many believed the match would be a wild brawl with Ambrose never backing down and throwing everything, including the kitchen sink, at Lesnar. What they got was an extended squash with Ambrose getting his ass kicked for 13 minutes.

Speaking to Inside The Ropes, Paul Heyman discussed Ambrose's attitude leading up to the match and why the results in the ring were so disappointing.

"Did you see his performance on the Stone Cold Podcast? Did it piss off Steve Austin? Did it piss you off too? You think he didn't come into the match with Brock Lesnar with the same attitude? Ask Braun Strowman what happens when you take liberties with Brock Lesnar. Ask Randy Orton what happens when you take liberties with Brock Lesnar. Ask The Undertaker what happens when you take liberties with Brock Lesnar. If that's what happened, because I'm not telling you what it was, I'm just throwing out a conspiracy theory for you to think about," said Heyman. "You mess with Brock Lesnar, the match is not going to be that good, you're just going to get your ass kicked, you're gonna get stretched, thrown around, dumped on your head, and Brock Lesnar is gonna go out and eat dinner and call you an asshole when it's all over. That's it. Happened to Randy Orton. Happened to Dean Ambrose. Happened to The Undertaker. That's what happens to anybody that crosses Brock Lesnar."

Later in 2016, Ambrose appeared on the Stone Cold Podcast on the WWE Network and shut down any questions about the Lesnar match. The whole exchange was awkward and uncomfortable, with Austin visibly frustrated at how Ambrose was acting and answering questions.

"Ask Steve Austin how he feels about Dean Ambrose," continued Heyman. "I'm sure [Steve Austin impression] Goddamn, that kid came on my podcast, I asked him a question and he's sitting there like he's half asleep on me. If Steve Austin could've come out of retirement at that moment, he would have bitch slapped Dean Ambrose all over the stage. It's the truth. But that's Dean Ambrose's persona. That's who Vince McMahon wants Dean Ambrose to be. If Dean Ambrose had done something so egregious and Vince McMahon didn't like it, he wouldn't be working here anymore. Obviously, he's doing something that Vince McMahon likes, whether we like it or not. Anybody who thinks that Brock Lesnar is lazy, is not taking a look at the right circumstances."

Lesnar has been praised for his performances against the likes of AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, and Finn Balor in recent years. He is set to face Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 35. Meanwhile, Ambrose is reportedly leaving the company shortly after WrestleMania following the decision to not renew his contract.
