Pyro in pro wrestling is used for entrances and show openings across professional wrestling companies, with stars such as Paul Wight having a significant amount of pyro for entrances. For Wight, he is not immune to the shock and surprise of pyro going off.

While speaking to Sky Sports in a new interview, Paul Wight was asked if wrestlers get shocked by their own pyro.

“Yes. I personally have almost peed myself several times on my own pyro back in the day. Especially if I’m having a conversation, not paying attention, I’m up next and the pyro goes off. Gets me every time. Oh, it’s super loud. It’s basically a cannon blast that goes off right under you and if you’re like five feet away from it and you’re not (ready) Because like usually you open your jaw and plug your ears and usually they’ll have a red light flashing to let you know pyro in 20 seconds, but sometimes the light doesn’t work and you’re running your mouth and not paying attention. All of a sudden, bam, it goes off. You’re like, oh, great. I just tinkled. Yeah, it’s a giant sized tinkle. That’s funny, right?”

Fightful Select recently had a report surrounding Wight’s contract with All Elite Wrestling. You can read more about that here.
