Red Velvet Is Excited To 'Shut Jade Cargill Up' On Crossroads Episode Of AEW Dynamite

Red Velvet is ready for the biggest moment of her career on March 3.

Red Velvet is going to have her first marquee matchup on the March 3 AEW Dynamite. In that match, she will face Jade Cargill. After weeks of Cargill hyping herself up at the expense of both Red Velvet and Brandi Rhodes, Red velvet says she's excited to finally shut Jade up.

Speaking on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Velvet explained what this match means for her and how important it was for her to stand up for Brandi Rhodes since Brandi cannot stand up for herself because of her pregnancy.

"Mentally, I'm trying to get myself ready because it’s a big thing to not let myself get caught up in how big this match is going to be, or who's in the match, or how much attention the match is going to get. I'm trying to really just mentally disconnect from all of that and just focus on the task at hand and that's to put all that anger that I have built up towards Jade in the ring, to get that win and make a huge huge statement because a majority of the world is already thinking that I'm at a disadvantage due to the height, but that's always the case with me. I think I'm very underrated and always put like an underdog but that just makes the story better in the comeback better, so I’m just trying to get myself all prepped up.

“I mean, she’s a great athlete. [Her] body is impeccable so that’s the first thing people see, and they’re like, ‘Oh yeah you don’t stand a chance,’ but I’ll show them what I’m really about.”

Acting as a substitute for Brandi Rhodes, Velvet says she was ecstatic when she first found out she would have this opportunity and she was ready for the bullying perpetrated by Jade Cargill to end.

“When I first found out about it I was definitely stoked, because this is the biggest match, to date, of my career so that was an excitement [factor]. I was definitely grateful for the opportunity, you know? They say when one door closes, one opens, and with Brandi stepping into the beautiful journey of motherhood, I think it was only right for me to step in and have her back because I was over the bullying and how they were getting on her because she was pregnant, the attacking, and then they attacked me so I just wasn't going to stay quiet about it. I'm excited and I'm excited to finally shut Jade up because all I've seen her do is run her mouth so I'm kind of excited to see if she's really going to throw down in the ring or what she's about.”

The card on March 3 will also feature the in-ring return of Tully Blanchard and the debut of Paul Wight, formerly known as The Big Show. Learn more at this link.
