AEW President Tony Khan revealed on AEW Unrestricted ahead of Revolution that Bowens was sidelined with a knee injury, but didn't provide further details.

Bowens took to social media to comment on his injury, writing "What you’ve seen the last 4 months was me basically wrestling on 1 leg. I can’t wait to get back full throttle. Don’t worry though, there’s still plenty of Acclaimed content coming your way each week. I’m excited for everyone to get to know us/me a little better outside the ring."

Bowens last wrestled on the February 4 episode of AEW Dynamite when he teamed with Max Caster against the duo of MJF & Chris Jericho. Caster competed in the Face of the Revolution ladder match at AEW Revolution.
