Report: Dean Ambrose "Wasn't Feeling" Originally Scripted Raw Promo

Dean Ambrose decided to keep it short and sweet.

During Monday's episode of Raw, many fans were surprised to see Dean Ambrose support his friend-turned-foe Seth Rollins in his upcoming WrestleMania 35 bout against Brock Lesnar. Following a dueling mics segment between Rollins and Lesnar's advocate Paul Heyman, Ambrose made his way to the ring, was handed a microphone by Rollins and said, "I've only got one thing to say to you: Slay the beast."

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Ambrose was originally scripted to do a longer promo discussing the history of The Shield and Roman Reigns before delivering the "slay the beast" line, but Ambrose reportedly "wasn't feeling it." As a result, Ambrose decided to keep his promo short and sweet. The show of support to Rollins was designed to turn Ambrose back into a babyface.

"The Lunatic Fringe" would go on to defeat EC3 in singles competition following his segment with Rollins, gaining a measure of revenge following his loss to EC3 the week prior. Ambrose is scheduled to leave WWE after his contract expires in April
