Report: Molly Holly, Michelle McCool Contacted For Royal Rumble Match; Paige Not Cleared

Two stars from WWE's past have been contacted for the women's Royal Rumble match, while Paige may not be able to participate.

PWInsider's elite audio reported this afternoon that WWE has contacted Molly Holly and Michelle McCool to be part of the upcoming women's Royal Rumble. Holly hasn't wrestled for the WWE since 2005, while McCool left WWE in 2011. Neither have wrestled much on the independent scene, but have appeared off and on for other WWE projects over the years. Holly is currently a trainer at The Academy: School Of Professional Wrestling alongside Shawn Daivari and Ken Anderson.

Meanwhile, PWInsider has also said that Paige may not be cleared in time for the Royal Rumble. She was injured last month in a six person tag team match, falling to the floor after a kick from behind by Sasha Banks. Initial reports were that she suffered a stinger, but there is no further update on what the injury is.

The Royal Rumble will be live in Philadelphia on January 28.
