Report: No Plans For Fans To Attend WWE Royal Rumble

The ThunderDome will continue as-is for WWE Royal Rumble.

According to Jon Alba of Living The Gimmick Podcast and Spectrum Sports 360, there are no plans for fans to be able to attend WWE Royal Rumble on January 30 at Tropicana Field in Tampa, Florida.

There was speculation that WWE would open the venue for fans as Raymond James Stadium will have limited fans for the Super Bowl and AEW is allowed limited fans at Daily's Place. NXT also allows limited family and friends at Capitol Wrestling Center for events.

However, Tropicana Field will remain a closed set for WWE.

WWE moved the ThunderDome from Amway Center to Tropicana Field on December 11.

Alba does note that plans are subject to change, but as of January 7, WWE is prepared to not have fans inside the ThunderDome for the Rumble.

Florida has remained a hotbed for COVID-19 during the pandemic with 17,783 new positive COVID cases announced Wednesday.
