Report: Randy Orton Keen On Working With NXT Talent, Front-Runner For SummerSlam Title Match

The online feud between Randy Orton and Tommaso Ciampa could come to WWE television.

Louis Dangoor of WrestleTalk reports Orton has thrown out the idea of working with NXT roster members including Tommaso Ciampa and Adam Cole.

Ciampa and Orton got into a Twitter war following NXT TakeOver: In Your House when Orton gave a backhanded compliment, saying he heard the event was good and gave them a leg slap for their efforts. Ciampa responded by saying he uses Orton matches to put his daughter to sleep.

In an interview with CBS Sports, Orton elaborated on his comments, saying he wants the best for Ciampa and wants him to make a lot of money on Raw or SmackDown. Ciampa had previously fought being called up to Raw or SmackDown, saying he didn't want to take on the schedule required due to his "bump card ticking."

It is unknown if Orton will end up feuding with NXT stars. Fightful reported in November 2019 that Orton pushed to remain with The Revival as FTRKO, but the trio was split after a short run during the WWE Draft.

Dangoor also notes that Orton is the "front-runner" face Drew McIntyre for the WWE Title at SummerSlam.

Orton was confronted by The Big Show on WWE Raw and is coming off a victory over Edge at WWE Backlash.
