An update on the status of Samoa Joe.
Mike Johnson at PWInsider reports that Samoa Joe suffered a broken thumb while performing recently and that is the reason why he hasn't been on television in the last month. Joe last wrestled on Sept. 9 in the King of the Ring semifinals on Raw, losing a triple threat match to Baron Corbin. Ricochet was also part of the bout.
Joe is reportedly waiting to be cleared, but there is no timetable for his return.
Prior to his injury, Joe was part of the Roman Reigns "whodunnit?" storyline, though his involvement was secondary as he played a possible suspect turned a friend of Reigns. Joe was also part of the King of the Ring tournament, putting him into multiple angles around the same time.
The injury bug has hit WWE a bit this week with reports that Sasha Banks suffered a back injury at WWE Hell in a Cell. There is no timetable for when she will return. Bray Wyatt was also not medically cleared following WWE Hell in a Cell, but he did make an appearance after WWE Raw in a dark match segment.
