Report: Shane McMahon Seen In Houston Ahead Of 2020 Royal Rumble Event

Every year, the WWE Royal Rumble event, and the overarching WrestleMania season, brings back some of the top names in WWE history. Now, yet another big-time name has appeared in Houston prior to the 2020 event.

According to a report from PWInsider, Shane McMahon has been seen in Houston ahead of the Royal Rumble this weekend. Shane McMahon was the General Manager on SmackDown from 2016 through 2019. His WWE run seemingly came to an end on the first SmackDown episode on Fox back in October 2019, when he lost a Ladder Match to Kevin Owens and was subsequently fired.

A previous report from PWInsider noted The Undertaker was also seen in town along with Mark Henry, Christian, Pat Patterson, and "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase.

Shane McMahon's only official appearance in a Royal Rumble Match took place in 2018, when he was one of the 50 men that took part in The Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. Outside of that, he appeared in the 2006 Rumble Match to eliminate Shawn Michaels on behalf of his father, Vince McMahon.

Even though there is no confirmation that Shane McMahon will appear on the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in any way, he has not missed a WrestleMania since returning in 2016 and this event does mark the beginning of WrestleMania season.
