Report: Vince McMahon Has Seen Wealth Grow $177 Million During COVID-19 Pandemic

The rich get richer. 

According to a reported by The Middleton Press, Connecticut billionaires have fared well during the COVID-19 pandemic. Among those billionaires is WWE CEO Vince McMahon, whose net worth has grown from $1.8 billion to $1.977 billion, from March to June. That's a $177 million (9.8%) growth during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tom Swan, CCAG executive director, wrote about the report, “This report is a stark reminder of the level of inequality in Connecticut. It also makes clear that any austerity arguments are disingenuous when the legislature begins to grapple with Connecticut’s legacy of white supremacy and looming budget challenges."

In the past three months, McMahon's XFL went under during the pandemic with the league filing for bankruptcy. He's also dealt with a handful of lawsuits filed against WWE and provided WWE with more liquidity

WWE has continued to run live events at the Performance Center during the pandemic, but no fans have been allowed to attend. WWE made company-wide cutbacks on April 15 as a way to save money during the pandemic.
