Report: WWE Hires New Writer For NXT, Brings Back Live Events Producer

WWE has made a couple of hires.

Mike Johnson at PWInsider reports WWE has hired George Carroll to join the NXT writing team. Carroll was reportedly backstage at Tuesday's NXT. Carroll previously worked as a Writer/Content Producer for ROH, Director of United States Operations for NJPW, and Senior Talent Coordinator for MLW.

Johnson also reports that WWE has brought back John D’Amico as Director, Production Management for live events. He is reportedly back on a full-time basis.

D'Amico confirmed the news on his Linkedin page, writing “Thank you to everyone for the kind and encouraging words. I am thrilled to be back with WWE and looking forward building a new live production event team."

D'Amico was released by WWE in September 2020 as part of budget cuts.

It was recently announced that Scott Smoot returned to the company as Vice President of Live Event Production.

WWE is set to resume live events in July 16 with a 25-city summer tour. The tour kicks off with WWE SmackDown on July 16 in Texas.
