Report: WWE Interested In Former ROH Champion Dalton Castle

WWE continues to have their eye on top Independent talent.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, WWE is interested in former ROH Champion Dalton Castle. It's unknown when Castle's contract with ROH expires. He signed a new deal with the company in June 2017, but terms were not reported. In a January 2018 appearance on the Not Sam Wrestling podcast with Sam Roberts, Castle stated, "I have another year left with Ring of Honor guaranteed."

Castle is a former ROH World Champion who held the title from December 2017 to June 2018. He defeated Cody Rhodes at last year's Final Battle event before losing the title to Jay Lethal at a television taping. He took time off after losing to Lethal to deal with a back injury. He returned to the company in October and is scheduled to face Matt Taven this Friday at ROH Final Battle.

As previously reported, WWE is also interested in names such as Karen Q, Rachael Ellering, Beer City Bruiser, ACH, and KUSHIDA. WWE is expected to announce the new crop of Performance Center recruits in January. They held their latest round of tryouts this past week at the Performance Center.
