Report: WWE Moving Forward With Women's Tournament

After one tournament led to a spot on Raw and later it's own weekly show, it appears that WWE is pushing forward with another long-rumored tourney.

According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE are planning a women's tournament, which will operate in a similar manner to their Cruiserweight Classic. As of now, the company will be filming sometime in the first quarter of 2016.

Fightful.com was told that several women at recent WWE tryouts were being looked at in relation to the tournament. Much like the Cruiserweight Classic, the WWE is open ot bringing in talent they wouldn't usually associate with in previous years. 

In addition to the women's tournament, there are plans to continue holding the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic annually. The Cruiserweight Classic may also return, but it's not confirmed, as they now have their own weekly programming
