Report: WWE Signed 14 College Athletes From SummerSlam Week Tryouts

More news coming out of the WWE tryouts during SummerSlam week.

ESPN reports that WWE signed 14 athletes from the tryouts during SummerSlam week in Nashville, TN. Names of the reportedly signed talents were not given. Tryouts were open to recently graduated and current college athletes.

50 college athletes took part in the tryout, which was crashed by NBA star Dwight Howard.

WWE Co-CEOs Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan helped oversee part of the tryout alongside Triple H, who is EVP of Talent Relations and leading WWE creative. Big E, Paul Heyman, and Bianca Belair were also on hand for the tryouts.

Among the athletes trying out were Troy Polamalu's nephew Talati Polamalu, North Carolina Track and Field Star Anna Keefer, Michigan State gymnast Lea Simone Mitchell, and more.

Fightful will update fans on the talent signed from the tryouts when they are known or announced.
