The last round of NXT tapings at Full Sail University included a section of fans that apparently chanted "Build a wall" at Andrade "Cien" Almas.
Wrestling, Inc. reported it spoke with two people who were at the tapings, but one of them said the chant was "not widespread."
The chant was in reference to the wall that Donald Trump said he wanted to build along the border of the United States and Mexico, considered to be one of the key parts of Trump's successful campaign for President in the 2016 election.
Some fans took to social media to address the chant:
After a lengthy career for prominent promotions such as CMLL and New Japan Pro Wrestling under a mask as La Sombra, including several title reigns in CMLL and one stint as the IWGP Intercontinental Champion in NJPW. Almas signed a developmental contract with WWE in November of last year. He made his televised debut in June at the NXT Takeover event, defeating Tye Dillinger. Almas turned heel earlier this fall, attacking Cedric Alexander after they lost their first-round match in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
Almas wrestled twice at the latest NXT tapings. Click here for a complete report from the tapings, which included a Fatal Four Way to crown a new number one contender for the NXT Title.
