Result And Aftermath: Jay White vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi For An IWGP Heavyweight Title Match At The Tokyo Dome

What just happened?

In what was a eventful few hours at NJPW's 'King Of Pro Wrestling' event, it only got more intense as the semi-main event between Jay White and Hiroshi Tanahashi commenced. Jay White had been proclaiming for months that he was going to usher in a new era in New Japan Pro Wrestling and he had plans on bringing that movement to life by defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi at 'King Of Pro Wrestling' for the rights to an IWGP Heavyweight Championship match at the Tokyo Dome.

Jay White with Gedo now as his corner-man, was looking to put an end to the old 'CHAOS' and bring new life and meaning to their version of the faction. At 'King Of Pro Wrestling' Tanahashi and Jay White had their grudge match and it was one that was filled with many interferences from Gedo but "The Ace" of New Japan was able to overcome the odds and hold on to the rights to challenge for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at the Tokyo Dome come 2019. It was not all cerebration for Tanahashi after the match as he was attacked by Jay White and Gedo. In a surprising moment Kazuchika Okada came down to the ring to help Tanahashi fend off Jay White and to also get revenge on Gedo who turned his back on Okada.

In what as another shocking moment, Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, Bad Luck Fale and Taiji Ishimori came down to the ring, entered it and seemingly were about to provide some back up to Okada and Tanahashi but it soon became clear that Gedo had done business with The Bullet Club OG's and all six men (Jay White, Gedo, Tama, Tanga Loa, Fale and Ishimori) put a beat down on Kazuchika Okada and left he and Tanahashi laying in the middle of the ring. This past January at New Years Dash, Jay White was offered the opportunity to join Bullet Club but it was not Kenny Omega's Bullet Club that he was interested in...
