This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of IMPACT Wrestling on POP TV. Tonight we have a jam packed show as in our main event Eli Drake defends his IMPACT Global Championship against Alberto El Patron, LAX take on oVe and if LAX lose they have to leave IMPACT as well as the first ever triple threat IMPACT Grand Championship match and more so be sure to come back here at 8 PM EST for all of the action!
X-Division Championship Match
Trevor Lee (c) vs Taiji Ishimori
They start the match off by grappling before Lee beats Taiji down and plays to the crowd. Taiji hit a a huricanrrana than sends Lee out of the ring before playing to the crowd, Lee quick to get back in before Caleb yanks Taiji off of the apron and to the floor as Lee distracts the referee. Caleb sends Taiji into the railing repeatedly before rolling him back into the ring for a quick two count. Lee keeps the high flying Ishimori grounded before whipping him into the corner for another quick two count. Taiji comes back with a springboard meteora before hitting a double foot stomp off of the top.
Taiji then knocks Caleb off of the apron before Lee hits a Spanish fly. They exchange standing switches and back flips before Taiji hits a hand spring roundhouse kick for a near fall. Lee then hits a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall before Taiji hits a gutbuster and a 450 splash for the pin and the win.
Winner: Taiji Ishimori defeats Trevor Lee via pinfall to become the new X-Division champion.
IMPACT Grand Championship Triple Threat Match
EC3 (c) vs Fallah Bahh vs Matt Sydal
Round 1
EC3 and Matt double team Bahh early only for him to take them both out with a series of scoop slams, even slamming EC3 on top of Matt at one point before Matt hits a huricanrrana for a quick two count. Bahh breaks up the pin attempt by literally rolling over top of them like a ball before chopping EC3 around the ring in several corners. Bahh sends Sydal back out of the ring and tossing EC3 across the ring before running into him and knocking him over. Bahh goes for a splash off of the top, but EC3 rolls out of the ring before he can as the round ends.
Round 2
EC3 sends Bahh out of the ring before Matt and EC3 exchange strikes and EC3 drops Matt with alarmist before tossing him over the top tope and onto Bahh at ringside. EC3 drags Matt back into the ring and puts a cravat on him before he fights out of it and hits a dropkick for a quick two count. EC3 then sends Matt into the corner as the round ends, Bahh not getting back in the ring at that point.
Round 3
EC3 goes to suplex Matt only for Bahh to run in and hit a running cross body and a splash onto EC3 for a near fall that Matt breaks up. Everyone hits a move before Bahh splashes both EC3 and Matt in separate corners, then Matt sends Bahh off of the top and to the floor. Matt goes for a shooting star press, but Bahh drops him before he finally does hit it, but time expires before the referee can count three.
Winner: EC3 defeats Matt Sydal and Fallah Bahh via judge's decision to retain the IMPACT Grand Championship
-We get a video package for Johnny Impact before Allie is interviewed about her becoming the latest number one contender for the Knockouts championship before Laurel shows up and beats her down before leaving.
James Storm vs Dan Lambert No Holds Barred Match
Storm is beat down by the entirety of American Top Team before he comes back and takes everyone out, even sending Lashley out of the ring with a superkick. KM shows up out of nowhere and hits James with a beer bottle for a near fall before he's hit with two beer bottles at once for the pin and the win.
Winner: Dan wins therefore James Storm must end his career in IMPACT Wrestling.
-After the match James hugs everyone backstage before making a phone call to his family and leaving. We then get an extended video package for the career of Abyss and his various matches as Abyss and Joseph Park before they replay the entirety of his match against Bully Ray at Slammiversary.
Chandler Park vs John Bowling
John beats Chandler down as soon as the match before Chandler comes back and rolls John up when he's distracted by Joseph at ringside for the pin and the win.
Winner: Chandler Park via pinfall
IMPACT Global Championship Match
Eli Drake (c) vs Alberto El Patron
They brawl at ringside and in the crowd before getting back in the ring and Alberto locks in an armbar in the ropes. We skip forward and Eli hits the Gravy Train for a near fall, Alberto getting his foot on the bottom rope at the last second. Eli tries to hit Alberto with the belt, but Alberto ducks and hit a facebuster into the belt. Eli then hits the Gravy Train for the pin and the win.
Winner: Eli Drake retains the IMPACT Global Championship to defeat Alberto El Patron via pinfall.
IMPACT Tag Team Championship Match
oVe (c) vs LAX
oVe attack LAX when they come out to the ring before triple teaming Santana in the ring for a quick two count once they get in the ring. The Crist brothers double team Santana before Dave is sent out of the ring and Santana hits a cutter to Jake. Santana gets DDT'd for a near fall before he fights his way out of the corner and finally tags Ortiz in. Ortiz hits a splash to Dave before sending Jake into Dave, then hits a DVD with Jake into Dave for a near fall. oVe hit Ortiz with the Street Sweeper, trying to defeat LAX with their own finisher for a very close near fall before both Santana and Dave come off of the top and Dave hits a cutter when he catches Santana in midair for another very close near fall.
Dave then hits a series of kicks before LAX send Jake o out of the ring and hit the Street Sweeper for the pin and the win.
Winner: LAX defeat oVe via pinfall to become the new IMPACT Tag Team champions.
